| WARNING AND RECALL NOTICE |
| Dear Kawasaki KLX'" 140 Owner: |
| This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act. |
| The reason for this notice: |
| This letter is sent to notify you that
Kawasaki, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission,
has initiated a voluntary safety Recall Campaign on KLX140 (KLX140A8FIB8F)
models to repair affected units. On eligible units, one or more of
the frame welds may be incomplete or missing. This can allow the frame
to crack or break creating the potential for a crash resulting in injury or death. Our records indicate that you have purchase done of these units. |
| What Kawasaki and your dealer will do: |
| Your Kawasaki dealer will correct this problem for you at no charge. The correction will consist of inspecting the frame and welding it if required. The actual repair will take up to 3.5 hours, but may take longer due to scheduling at the dealership and the time needed to obtain required parts. |
| What you must do to ensure your safety: |
| Please call your authorized Kawasaki motorcycle dealer to schedule an appointment and take this letter with you at the time of your appointment. DO NOT RIDE YOUR KLX140 UNTIL THE REPAIR HAS BEEN COMPLETED. |
